Sympathie /Sympathy
法语的 “sympathie” 和英语的 “sympathy” 意思还有重合的地方，有时可以互译。
Exemple:
1.Nous avons appris le décès de votre chère maman et nous tenons à vousexprimer notre profonde sympathie.
We have heard of the death of your dear mother and would like to express our deepest sympathy.惊悉令堂仙逝，特向你表示深切的同情。
注意：法语的“sympathie” 在表示 “同情” 时，一定是有人去世了。（Notez que“sympathie” n’est employé dans le sens de“compassion”que dans le cas d’un décès.）所以，法语的“同情”是很严重的事，千万别用错了场合哦！
但在法语里，“sympathie” 除了“分担痛苦”，还更多地表示“分享快乐”——“好感，友善”（attraction,warmth of feeling），一般译为英语的 “like,friendly, etc.”。
Exemple:
1.J’ai beaucoup de sympathie pour eux.  Je regrette vraiment qu’ils doivent s’en aller.
I like them very much.  I’m really sorry they have to go.我非常喜欢他们，不愿意(舍不得)让他们走。
2.Quand j’ai été engagé dans le département, il a été le seul à metémoigner de la sympathie.
When I started in the department he was the only one who was friendly to me.我刚开始在科（处）里工作的时候，他是那里唯一对我友善的人。
3.Toute sa personne inspirait la sympathie.
He was thoroughly likeable /a thoroughly likeable person.他这人特别讨人喜欢。
英语的“sympathy”在 “分担痛苦，同情”这个意义上，一般译为法语的“compassion”。
Exemple:
Sympathy is not enough.  We must do something practical to help the homeless.
Il ne suffit pas d’éprouver de la compassion /de la pitié pour les sans-abri.  Il faut agir.仅有同情心是不够的。我们必须以实际行动来救助流浪者。
英语的“sympathy”从“同情”又引伸出了“亲近”的意思。
Exemple:
1.There was always a special sympathy between the two elder brothers.
Il y a toujours eu une grande affinité entre les deux frères aînés.两个年长的兄弟关系一直很亲近。
2.Her husband has leftist sympathies (pl.).
Son mari est de tendance gauchiste.她丈夫有（亲）左派倾向。
